Abhishek Manu Singhvi Declares ₹2,558 Crore Assets, ₹374 Crore Annual Income in Rajya Sabha Election Affidavit

Senior Advocate and Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi has declared assets worth approximately ₹2,558 crore and an annual income exceeding ₹374 crore in the election affidavit submitted for the Rajya Sabha elections from Telangana.

The affidavit was filed before the Returning Officer along with Singhvi’s nomination papers and contains details of movable and immovable assets, income sources, liabilities and financial interests belonging to him, his spouse and his Hindu Undivided Family (HUF).

Income Details

According to the affidavit, Singhvi reported income of over ₹374 crore for the financial year 2024-25.

The affidavit also lists his income in previous financial years:

• ₹333+ crore in 2023-24
• ₹359+ crore in 2022-23
• ₹290+ crore in 2021-22
• ₹158+ crore in 2020-21

These figures reflect income primarily from legal practice, investments and other financial sources.

Assets and Investments

The affidavit provides a detailed breakdown of Singhvi’s financial holdings and assets. These include:

The document notes that Singhvi personally holds jewellery valued at about ₹2.40 crore, while his spouse has declared jewellery worth over ₹157 crore.

Singhvi’s disclosures indicate that he has extended personal loans amounting to about ₹353 crore, while his spouse has separately provided loans to companies worth around ₹73 crore.

The affidavit mentions income tax dues exceeding ₹63 crore against Singhvi.

It also discloses a 2014 prosecution complaint filed by the Income Tax Department alleging under-reporting of income. According to the affidavit, proceedings in the matter are currently pending before a Delhi court and have been stayed by the Delhi High Court.

The affidavit further clarifies that Singhvi has no criminal convictions recorded against him.

हलफनामे में ₹63 करोड़ से अधिक की आयकर देनदारी का भी उल्लेख किया गया है।

इसके अलावा 2014 में आयकर विभाग द्वारा आय कम दिखाने के आरोप में दायर अभियोजन शिकायत का भी उल्लेख किया गया है। हलफनामे के अनुसार यह मामला दिल्ली की अदालत में लंबित है और दिल्ली हाईकोर्ट द्वारा स्थगित किया गया है।

साथ ही हलफनामे में स्पष्ट किया गया है कि सिंघवी के खिलाफ कोई आपराधिक दोषसिद्धि नहीं है।
